Beacon Pharma Participates in Prothom Alo Round Table Discussion

To mark World Cancer Day, Beacon, the first anticancer drugs manufacturing and exporting pharmaceutical company, organized a roundtable discussion on “Cancer Treatment in Bangladesh: Capability and Possibility” at the Daily Prothom Alo head office conference room on 3rd February, 2016.

Some renowned Cancer specialists, such as Prof Dr. Moarrof Hossain, Prof Dr. Md. Mofazzel Hossain, Prof Dr. Qamruzzaman Chowdhury, Prof Dr. S. K. Golam Mostafa, Prof Dr. Hafizur Rahman Ansary, Prof Dr. Sarwar Alam, Prof Dr. Azizul Islam, Prof Dr. G. M. Faruk, Prof Dr. Mokhles Uddin, Prof Dr. Parvin Shahida Akhter, Prof. Dr.AMM Shariful Alam, Prof. Dr. Ehtashamul Huq, Dr. Ferdous Shahriar Sayed, and Dr. Parvin Akhter Banu, delivered their valuable opinions about cancer treatment in our country. Among others, a cancer survivor, Mr. Md Ebadul Karim, Managing Director, Beacon Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and his family, as well as officials and media personnel, also take part in the roundtable discussion. The speakers discussed on the importance on prevention of Cancer and to improve facility of cancer treatment . The good news is that all types of cancer treatment facilities are now available in Bangladesh. The disease diagnosis and treatment are too important to save a life in the early stage of cancer. Machines and tools for diagnosing is not available in our country. It should be solved as much as possible. Doctors share their opinions on reducing diagnostic costs. Some personalities asked to establish a specialized cancer hospital. Social workers and institutions/ NGOs should come forward to help poor patients who can't afford treatment costs.
