Professor ABM Faroque has joined Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC as an Independent Director in 2024. Professor ABM Faroque is an accredited and acknowledged researcher in the field of pharmaceutical technology and he has both national & international publications in the field of Pharmaceutical Industry. Currently, he is also serving as a Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Southeast University.
Professor ABM Faroque has a wide variety of knowledge in the Pharmaceutical Technology for more than 45 years of service in different position at Dhaka University and in different national & internal committee of the Government of Bangladesh. He was the Dean & Chairman of both Dept. of Pharmaceutical Technology & Dept of Pharmacy and also the Director of Biomedical Research Centre, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka.
He has been nominated and assigned in different government body and associated with international organization over his long period of service. He was Convener, National Drug Policy Formulation Sub-Committee, Directorate General of Drug Administration, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and Team Leader, Specialist Team for the inspection of all Pharmaceutical Companies of Bangladesh. He was Member, Herbal National Formulary Committee, WHO and Board of Unani & Ayurvedic Systems of Medicines, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and Resource Person, Bangladesh Arsenic Mitigation & Safe Water Supplies Program, Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Government of Bangladesh.
He was also the member, Unani and Ayurvedic National Formulary Committee, WHO and Board of Unani & Ayurvedic Systems of Medicines, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh,1987-2000 and Member, National consultative committee on code of Marketing of Breast-Milk substitutes, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. He was the dignitary resource person for UNICEF and WHO on different projects like Program on Control of lodine Deficiency Disorders in Bangladesh, universal lodization of salt, in Policy paper for children, Joint Government and UNICEF Action Group (JGUAG), prevention of Vitamin A and lodine Deficiencies in Bangladesh, TRIPS and Access to medicines in the least-Developed countries and WHO Essential Drug Program.
He has participated in many trainings and attendant a lot of seminars internationally. In his new role, Professor ABM Faroque will lead our efforts in enhancing excellence in pharmaceuticals industry internationally.
